He Alone Can Open and Close Doors with Finality
In life, we can encounter situations where it seems like a door is closed before us — we do not receive a deserved promotion or salary raise, a romantic relationship is ended, a loved one dies.
Sometimes, we feel like blaming ourselves or others.
In other times, we receive unexpected blessings or favor — a needed cash gift arrives, we are given a clean bill of health after a momentary health scare, we receive a rare opportunity to travel for free.
Sometimes, we may feel like we “earned” these blessings or gifts. Or that people were just that generous and kind to us.
I think that in the end, it all goes back to a loving God who alone can open or close doors with finality towards an event, situation or even a provision.
For the open doors,we thank Him.
For the closed doors, we exercise faith and trust that in the end He has something better in mind for us and for our loved ones.
I will give him the key to the house of David—the highest position in the royal court. When he opens doors, no one will be able to close them; when he closes doors, no one will be able to open them. Isaiah 22:22
I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close. You have little strength, yet you obeyed my word and did not deny me. Revelation 3:8
