No, the pains and disappointments of COVID-19 won’t stop us from welcoming the Christmas season.
There is always a reason to celebrate.
And if you ask me why, well, it is because:
“A child is born to us, a son is given to us, and authority will be on his shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.” — Isaiah 9:6
“The angel said, “Don’t be afraid! Look! I bring good news to you—wonderful, joyous news for all people. Your savior is born today in David’s city. He is Christ the Lord. This is a sign for you: you will find a newborn baby wrapped snugly and lying in a manger.” — Luke 2:10-15
“God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him won’t perish but will have eternal life.” — John 3:16
From the above Biblical verses, I can celebrate because of God’s amazing love, because you and I have a Savior, because we are offered and given eternal life. And so life has meaning and purpose, life still holds out hope and joy. Therefore, you and I can still celebrate this season.
