Earning Bitcoins: Let Me Count the Ways

Although bitcoins have been around for more than 5 years, they gained a higher level of attention last year for a number of reasons. One reason for that is the “demand for the currency spiked a whopping 5,000 per cent in 2013, driving the price of a bitcoin from about $13 U.S. in January to more than $1,000 U.S. in November.”  Now that’s certainly a huge amount. According to an article in Huffington Post this was due to a large demand in China.

Now how about us today, in the here and now. How could we possibly benefit and earn through this now highly popular digital currency? Well, let me count some of the most common ways:

Mining. In the early days of bitcoin, this is done by running a software on home computers. As one runs the software, one is rewarded with newly generated coins. Today, more people opt for cloud mining where a professional does the mining and then they just get a share from it.
